The CFO defines and implements the finance strategy for CAMCAR ensuring short, medium, and long term planes aligned with the company’s objective, mission and vision. Organizes all relevant responsibilities, policies and financial procedures that included accounting, financial planning, fiscal & audit, treasury & cost management. Establishes norms and procedures to ensure internal control and the required gathering of data for Profit & Loss projections providing relevant financial information for MC. Close management of cash flow and support the business through bringing to the context a financial perspective for any new business opportunities.

The CFO reports directly to the Area Latam CFO and dotted line to the Marketing Company president (MCP).

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and administers the financial strategy of the company based upon the overall company strategy in terms of sales, costs & profit ensuring business goals.

  • Train the Finance Unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.

  • Partner with the MCP on all operational and strategic issues as they arise; provide strategic recommendations to the president based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis.

  • Participate in the ongoing strategic planning process as an integral member of the senior management team.

  • Oversee long-term budgetary planning and cost management in alignment with strategy plan.

  •  Planning, organization and directs all the activities and financial policies including accounting, financial planning, tax procedures, treasury, cost control, and study and analysis of investments.

  • Establishes norms and procedures that assure an adequate internal control and the protection of the Business assets, providing the necessary information for its management. 

  • Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.

  • Defines the short, medium and long-term budgets time limit for: Sales, Costs, Expenses and Cash Flow, as well as monitoring the real results against budget and latest view in order to define deviations and to suggest or to make decisions that permit to realign the course of the Business.

  • Manages a Department team, capable of providing the support services needed for planning, analysis and control to the General Management and other functional business areas.

  • Established the procedures and mechanism to comply with the Financial Control Framework (FCF) at all levels of the organization.

  • Ensure that a culture of ethics and integrity is embedded in all business practices. Complies with the Code of Conduct, the twelve AZ Global Policies and all relevant supporting policies, standards and procedures.  

  • Oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of organizational and contract/grant budgets.

  • Supervising the administration and maintenance of the data processing systems infrastructure and communication of AstraZeneca CAMCAR, according to Corporate Policies.

Education, Qualifications, Competencies & Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in finance as Business Partner, Controller or CFO level, in multi-national firms. (Pharmaceutical industry preferred)

  • Bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience

  • Completion of a master's degree at an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience. (Desired)

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (Preferred)

  • Fluent in Spanish & English

  • SAP knowledge

  • CAMCAR understanding (Preferred)
